Smartdock Capability
If you want to charge your phone using a charging cradle with your Samsung Galaxy Note 2, or Galaxy S4, or other MHL phone, but you can't because you have a case on it, this cable solves that problem. Built because of customer demand; you wanted it, we built it. Functionality is limited to charging and HDMI output from the dock. USB ports on the dock do not function at this time. Try a bluetooth to add this functionality!

How it's different than a standard USB Micro-B Extension or MHL Extension Adapters on other sites
The MHL connector is incorporated into the Micro USB 2.0 connector of many newer phones, however, the Samsung S3, S4, and Note 2 (as of Oct. 2013) use an 11pin MHL connector, rather than the standard 5pin connector that Micro-USB uses. While a Micro-USB extension will work for charging and data transfer, it won't work with additional HDMI functionality. Ours is charging and MHL compatible with your newer Samsung phone - we've not only tested it, but we use it ourselves.
